At the outset, we would like to explain that the “Professional Interior Design” Course is not simply a course in the theory of interior design. It’s all about the practical work - developing functional design concepts, meeting your client’s needs, marketing your services and being paid for your design skills.

Here’s the good news. There are more jobs for competent interior designers than there are interior designers to fill them.

You’ll find the interior designer at work in thousands of homes and offices. They are choosing functional lighting, furniture, fabrics and window treatments. They are adding wall and floor coverings and choosing colour and decorative options. They are also meeting with clients, contractors and suppliers.

This Course is all about interior design for profit. Home owners, builders, business houses, hospitality venues, architects and real estate agents have an ongoing need for design. These needs are fulfilled by the professional interior designer. Why are these designers successful? Simply because they know how to go about it.

Opportunities for trained interior designers are everywhere – you can operate your own business or work freelance for design and architectural consultancies, builders and property developers and hotel and restaurant chains. And, if you prefer a sales career, selling or working with furniture, carpets, wallpapers, kitchen, bathrooms or any related field, your College training and qualifications will prove of invaluable benefit.

You’ll find that interior design is an adventure, limited only by your own imagination and flair - qualities which will be further developed throughout your Course.

By definition you become a professional interior designer with your first paid assignment. Be prepared for one of the most exciting and rewarding experiences of your life.

At the end of this Course you will have the necessary training and skills to successfully handle virtually any assignment. You will have an insider’s knowledge of what the market requires and how to go about providing it.

Work in interior design offers great financial security. People lavish money and attention on their homes. In business and retail, it’s an obligation that can’t be ignored. Living and working in comfortable surroundings is a priority for almost everyone. And, you’re the person who can help

About The Course

A successful interior designer does not have to be gifted. Every interior designer was once a complete beginner. Success in interior design is very much a matter of knowing how to go about it.

The “Professional Interior Design” Course has been designed to develop your individual design skills. Your own professional goals and areas of interest are the focus of your assignments and studies.

At the beginning of the Course you are assigned an individual tutor, a working professional, experienced in the areas of design that most interest you. You and your tutor work together to develop design ideas and approaches relating specifically to these areas.

These might include freelance work in private homes, commercial or hospitality design, eco-design, renovation, makeover or pre-sale inspection. Naturally if you choose to pursue any number of design subjects we are there to help.
